Frederick is 23 years old, single, and has eleven siblings.  Because of this, he must do what he can to help provide for his family.  Frederick’s mother is also a borrower in this Branch, and is the current chair-person of the Branch Management Committee.

He had an existing shoe repair business before he joined Grameen and started receiving loans.  Since being chosen for the 10,000 Peso ($245) loan in mid-December 2010, he has met all repayments each week.

Now, his shoe repair business is doing well and he is earning 300 to 400 Pesos daily.  Some of the other borrowers are now his customers.  In the future, Frederick wishes to borrow larger loans to purchase the tools and supplies he needs to grow his shoe repair business.
